    1 Day Pre Arrival in Cairo

    Due to the length of this journey, we recommend arriving in Cairo 1 day before the tour starts. This will allow you to rest and adjust to the time difference so you will be refreshed for the beginning of the tour. We have negotiated an amazing package that includes an extra night at the hotel, breakfast, dinner, and transfer from the Cairo Airport to your hotel - all for a total of $105 per person, based on double occupancy or $170 for single occupancy.

    The journey starts today! We will depart to Egypt, sit back and enjoy your flight, tomorrow we will be in the land of the Pharaohs experiencing some of the most extraordinary ancient sites in the world.

    Welcome to Egypt

    Once you arrive in Cairo and go through passport control, our Cairo representative will be there to meet you. You will be privately transferred from the Cairo International Airport (CAI) to the Meridian Pyramids Hotel. The hotel is centrally located within a mile from the Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the Wonders of the Ancient World.

    After you check-in at the hotel, enjoy the hotel facilities, you can relax by the pool on sun loungers or enjoy a refreshing swim. Explore a spa at the Le Méridien which includes a gym, hot tub, sauna, and a range of massage treatments.

    At night, we will meet our tour guide and the rest of the group! Our tour guides in Egypt are professional Egyptologists, so prepare your questions and get ready for tomorrow’s tour.

    Full Day Giza Tour – Experience the pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis & more

    After enjoying breakfast with the group, we will be on the way to visit the Pyramids of Giza, also known as the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

    We will be able to go inside the Great Pyramid and see the burial chamber.

    Next stop, the colossal statue of the Great Sphinx. This mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human was built 4,500 years ago, and it was used as a spiritual guardian in ancient times.

    During our visit, you will have a chance to ride a camel and take the ultimate selfie in front of the pyramids!

    Discover Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. Only 45 minutes from Cairo, the importance of this city is palpable because of the 5,000-year-old remains.

    Visit Sakkara, the necropolis (cemetery) of Menes, the first king of the First Dynasty and founder of Memphis.

    In Sakkara you will find 15 royal pyramids, including the Step Pyramid (the earliest stone structure in the world) built for Djoser, a King of the Third Egyptian Dynasty.

    We will visit the Bent Pyramid, an ancient Egyptian pyramid located at the royal necropolis of Dahshur. The Bent Pyramid is a great exemplar of early pyramid construction and its evolution. Walk down a narrow tunnel and see the two 4,600-year-old chambers, recently opened to the general public.

    Visit the nearby Pyramid of Unas, which belongs to the last King of the Fifth Dynasty and includes the hieroglyphs with the first Pyramid Texts (obituaries) inscribed.

    After a full day of touring, we will head to the hotel for dinner.

    Full Day Cairo Tour – Experience the Egyptian Museum, Citadel, Old Cairo & more

    After breakfast, we will be on our way to visit the Egyptian Museum, one the largest collections of Pharaonic art and treasures in the world.

    We will visit the Citadel, built in 1176, as a fortification for the crusaders. In the Citadel you will see three different mosques, museums and many palaces with amazing views of the Giza’s Pyramids.

    We will drive into Old Cairo and explore the city’s cultural landmarks that span three millennium of Egyptian history.

    We will see the Mohamed Ali Mosque, built in 1830 and considered the crown of the Citadel.

    After a full day of touring, we will head back to the hotel for dinner.

    Embark the Movenpick Hamees Nile Cruise

    After breakfast transfer to the Cairo airport and fly to Luxor. You can store your luggage at the Le Meridien hotel storage rooms before departing to Luxor for your 3 nights Nile Cruise.

    You will be met at the Luxor Airport and transferred to the cruise.

    We will board the cruise at 12:00 and enjoy lunch at 12:30.

    At 13:30, we will head to the High Dam. This 364-foot-tall dam was built to control the Nile floods expected every year in the region.

    We will then visit the site of the Granite Quarries, where you will see an unfinished obelisk, the largest known in ancient Egypt and a great example of early temple construction.

    We will also get to visit the Temple of Philae, saved by “UNESCO’s Rescue Project” by moving the entire temple outside of a flooding area and allowing tourists for generations to enjoy this marvelous structure.

    After a morning of touring, we will meet at 19:00 for a “Welcome Cocktail Reception”.

    We will enjoy dinner onboard at 19:30, enjoy the local cuisine and some American favorites dishes.

    Adventure on the Nile: Kom Ombo & The Temple of Horus

    We will enjoy breakfast at 8:00 and have lunch onboard at 13:00

    We will sail to Kom Ombo departing at 14:00

    Tea will be ready at 16:30 and at 17:00 we will visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, one of the Nile Valley's most beautiful temples once protected by crocodiles in the riverbank. The Temple of Kom Ombo was dedicated to two gods, Sobek the god of crocodiles and Haroeris (Horus the Elder). Most of the temple décor and design was completed by Cleopatra VII’s father, Ptolemy XII Neos Dionysos.

    At 18:30 we will board the cruise and sail to Edfu, the site of the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus and an ancient settlement.

    We will enjoy dinner onboard at 20:00, enjoy the local cuisine and some American favorites dishes.

    The party starts at 21:30! Enjoy a Galabeya `party, a party where everyone wears a Galabeya, a traditional Egyptian gown.

    Discover Edfu from the Nile – Temple of Horus

    Our wake-up call will be at 5:00, enjoy breakfast and get ready for a full-day of touring.

    We will start our day at 6:00 by visiting the Temple in Edfu, one of Egypt's best-preserved temples and great example of the ambition of these early Egyptian temple builders. The temple was dedicated to god Horus, the falcon god and built in the Ptolemaic period between 237 and 57 BCE.

    We will embark the cruise at 8:00 and head back to Luxor, enjoy the pool, spa services and the amazing stunning views of the Nile.

    At 12:30 we will have lunch onboard.

    At 16:00 we will visit the East Bank, where we will head over to the Temple of Karnak. Built by Ptolemy III, this structure is one best kept temples of ancient times and the largest religious building ever made, covering about 200 acres. Egyptians believed that every year, earth needed replenishment, and they would visit the Opet Festival in Karnak; to pray for a magical regeneration of earth.

    You will experience the Avenue of 1,000 Sphinxes, which originally ran from Karnak to Luxor and was used every year during the Opet Festival during a parade with the statues of Amun and Mut, where they would re-enact their marriage.

    Explore the Luxor Temple located in the heart of the city. Dedicated to Amon, king of the gods, this monumental site requires for us to caution amateur and professional photographers, this will be a fun adventure!

    Dinner will be served at 20:00 and a belly dance show will perform at 21:00.

    The Temples – Valley of the Kings & Queens, Karnak & Luxor Temples

    We will have breakfast onboard at 6:00.

    We will disembark the cruise at 7:00 and head to the West Bank.

    Explore the Valley of the Kings located in the high Gurna Hills. Here you will visit the magnificent tombs of Egypt’s Pharaohs.

    Roam through the Valley of the Queens, where you will find the tombs of 64 Pharaohs and 57 Queens!

    Visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, where her Divine Birth Novels can be seen on the Walls of her temple, originally dedicated to the goddess Hathor, deity of love and beauty. The temple’s 37 meters (121 Foot) – wide causeway leads us to three huge terraced courts; the Temple of Hatshepsut is as intriguing as the Pharaoh-queen herself.

    Dinner will be served at the hotel.

We offer small groups & greater value. Land package prices listed are per person in U.S. dollars. Rates are based on double occupancy and inclusive of all taxes. A single supplement fee of $485.00 is required for travelers without a roommate.
